MENTORS PROGRAM

The ELVEN Institute would like to connect new particpants in Second Life to those of us with more experience. To make this happen more easily, we are offering our services as MENTORS to those who need mentoring on various topics.

MENTORS agree to monitor the ELVEN group IM channel (when they are online) for questions or requests for assistance from others. If they are able to respond to the request, they will answer in the channel that they can help, and then offer assistance in a private IM to the person with the question or request.

ELVEN is compiling a list of mentors and their special skills unless a mentor encounters a request they cannot handle themselves.

Our Mission

The ELVEN Institute's mission is to assist preK-12 educators and librarians to envision, construct, and use engaging virtual learning environments in order to demonstrate and document their value in increasing student achievement and growth. Toward this end, the Institute seeks to collaborate with other institutions, to conduct professional development and research, and to collect and disseminate best practices and useful tools related to prek-12 learning environments.
